But that didn’t stop him from putting his foot in his mouth at a recent event.
“A long time ago it was domestic stars that brought the audience into movies.
Today, it’s interesting, unknown people can star entire miniseries, can be in movies.”
Some interpreted what Steven Spielberg seemed to say about “Squid Game” actors as offensive.
“Talking about foreigners as ‘unknown people’ is highly disrespectful.
While another personnotedthat his words were perhaps not deliberately hurtful, but that they still had that result.
“The point is that he has, albeit unintentionally, downgraded the acting world beyond America.
Everyone calm THEE F down.”
They weren’t the only ones.
Spielberg, as of this writing, has not publicly commented on the internet uproar.
