Lissing and his co-star, Erin Krakow, had been with the show from the beginning.

Previously, both actors had appeared separately in otherHallmark holiday films.

As the camera pans along a Christmassy outdoor street set, it lands on Lissing and Krakow from behind.
The two actors turn to the camera with beaming smiles, and Lissing puts his arm around Krakow.
When he told his co-star, Krakow was shocked and saddened by the news.
The show’s writers explored all the possibilities for handling Lissing’s departure.
